Davis is proud to announce that ACLASS is now a signatory of the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with APLAC!

ACLASS

Arlington, VA – ACLASS, a Washington D.C. metro area based company, recently attended the 12th Annual General Assembly in Taipei, Chinese Taipei and signed the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on September 13, 2006 for both calibration and testing. APLAC groups accreditation bodies in the Asia Pacific region responsible for accrediting calibration, testing and inspection facilities. APLAC's principal objectives are to foster the development of competent laboratories and inspection bodies in member economies, to harmonize accreditation practices in the region and with other regions, and to facilitate mutual recognition of accredited test, measurement and inspection results through the APLAC multilateral Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA).

As a result of signing the APLAC MRA, ACLASS, already an associate member in ILAC, now automatically progresses to full membership of ILAC, for testing and calibration. “A formal signing ceremony for the ILAC MRA will be taking place November 12, 2006 in Cancun, Mexico,” said Keith Greenaway, ACLASS’ President, “ACLASS we be there attending the ILAC General Assembly.”

ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) is an international cooperation between the various laboratory accreditation schemes operated throughout the world. ILAC is the world's principal international forum for the development of laboratory accreditation practices and procedures, the promotion of laboratory accreditation as a trade facilitation tool, the assistance of developing accreditation systems, and the recognition of competent test facilities around the globe.

“We, as an organization, worked very hard over several years to become a signatory to the APLAC and ILAC MRA,” said Keith Greenaway, ACLASS’ President, “The dedication of the entire ACLASS team is to be commended.”

ACLASS is headquartered in the Washington, DC metro area and is an accreditation body for the ISO/IEC 17025 standard dedicated to providing quality and reliable accreditation services.
