NCS Acquisition Adds Physical Dimensional Capabilities

World-class calibration lab’s acquisition of Northwest Calibration Systems expands physical dimension capabilities

BALTIMORE (August 1, 2005) - Davis Calibration Laboratories, a division of Davis Calibration Instruments, LLC, announced today its expansion of physical dimension calibration capabilities as a result of the acquisition of Northwest Calibration Systems (NCS).

The acquisition will noticeably enhance Davis Calibration ’s current array of physical dimension standards, adding the following capabilities:

  • Cable tensiometers
  • Hot binder machines for laminating composites
  • Proper master squares
  • Torque wrenches to 4000 feet pounds
  • Surface plate calibration and surface plate resurfacing
  • Laser dimensional measurements

The newly-acquired labs have a 80” super micrometer used in calibration of long dimensional items. This lab also owns two comparators used for gage block calibration, meaning they can calibrate 0-4” (0-100mm) grade 2 or lower and can range up to 20” (500mm) grade 3 or lower.

The former NCS lab in Seattle is A2LA 17025 accredited for their scope and this can be viewed at www.A2LA.org.
