Q&A about GEIS Acquisition

Question:  How will customers benefit from Davis Calibration 's acquisition of GE Instrumentation Services?

Answer: Customer benefits have been a driving force in this acquisition effort.  Both organizations offer very complimentary experience,  capabilities and geographic coverage.  Clients of both organizations will now have access to a more broad array of affordable services.

  • Calibration service in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico from 30 calibration centers.
  • Improve customer service and sales performance through increased capabilities and capacity.
  • Increased coverage of technologies means reduced cost and quicker turnaround time.
  • Sales teams will start working together to help propose new customer solutions from the combination of locations that will best service the customer.
  • Corporate agreements with larger discounts for expanded contracts made possible with additional lab locations.
  • Resources and commitment to deploy next-generation calibration solutions, bringing new and compelling services to market.

Question:  Will GE Instrumentation Services change?  Will Davis Calibration change?

Answer:  GE Instrumentation Services will now be know as GEIS.  Davis Calibration and GEIS customers will notice little or no changes except where we can bring the combined capabilities together to deliver better capabilities and service as described above.

  • No operational changes planned -- GEIS will continue to run on same systems, with the same Technicians, Sales and Management Staff.
  • Davis Calibration will continue to run on same systems, with the same Technicians, Sales and Management Staff
  • GEIS and Davis Calibration Operational Management will begin working together to share resources in situations that will improve customer service. (Most common example is when subcontracting can be eliminated)
  • Both GEIS’s AIMS and Davis’s DATA Track website will continue to be hosted and operate as normal.
  • Quality systems, registrations and accreditations will be maintained and will not be affected by the change in ownership.
  • GEIS Customers will be contacted when it is necessary to reassign purchase orders, however for the near future invoicing will come from GE and current POs will still be valid.
  • All current contracts will be applicable and valid. There will be no changes in pricing or terms.

Question:  Does any contact information change?

Answer:  All phone numbers will remain the same and will ring to the same locations.  GEIS email addresses will remain the same for the short term. Customers will be notified when addresses are changed
